Meet our staff.
We work well as a team to make sure your experience in our office is outstanding.

Patricia Macarelli is a Board Certified Optician who has been with our practice since 1998. She received her A.A.S. Opticianry Degree from the New Hampshire Technical College in 1994, and is both ABO (American Board of Opticianry) and NCLE (National Contact Lens Examiners) certified. She is a member of the New Hampshire Optician's Society. Trisha lives in Amherst with her husband Joe. They have two grown children, Jill and Christopher. She enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren and also enjoys boating in the summertime.
Jennifer Costello has been with our practice since 2007. She'll typically be the first to greet you as you check in, and generally will do anything and everything that has to be done behind the front desk, especially if it involves entering information into our computer system. She will also help you with your insurance questions. Jennifer lives in Milford with her family.
Susan O'Leary has been with our practice since 2002. Although you'll typically see her behind the front desk, she wears many hats. Her duties include ordering glasses and contact lenses, dealing with phone calls, helping individuals select frames, assisting with contact lens training and other clinical procedures, and dealing with insurance issues, to name a few. Sue is both a registered Ophthalmic Dispenser and a member of the New Hampshire Optician's Society. Before coming to our office, Sue worked for a large ophthalmology practice and a pediatric medical office. Sue is originally from the Boston area, and moved to New Hampshire 24 years ago. She lives in Merrimack and has two grown children, Amanda and Ben.

Rachel Dechane's job title is office manager. However, her typical day can involve dealing with insurance companies, re networking our computers, fixing office equipment, assisting individuals select glasses, ordering contact lenses, coordinating with sales reps, developing reports, assisting patients with paperwork, and ... more. In our practice, the job description "office manager" is very broad!! Rachel excels in all these areas, and more. Rachel has been with our practice since 2000. She is a registered Ophthalmic Dispenser and is a member of the New Hampshire Optician's Society. She grew up in Milford, graduated from Milford High School, and lives in Lyndeborough with her husband Ian.

Dr. Joseph Raczek grew up in Dunkirk, NY, a small city on Lake Erie near Buffalo. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where he completed his undergraduate work and earned his O.D. degree in 1980. He served as Chief of Optometric Services at Hanscom Air Force Base in Lexington, MA from June 1980 until December 1984. He then became Chief of Optometric Services at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea in 1984, and Dover AFB in Dover, DE, from January 1985 until February 1986.
After leaving the Air Force in early 1986, Dr. Raczek moved to New Hampshire and bought a small optical business after working in it for a few months. After 18 years at the same location (180 Elm Street) Dr.Raczek moved the practice to it's present location in an old federal style building at 380 Nashua Street.
Dr. Raczek and his wife Tina (Maynard) are proud parents of a daughter, Paige, who was born on April 8, 2011.
Dr. Raczek is licensed both in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is a 26-year member of the New Hampshire Optometric Association and has served on it's board of directors and chaired numerous committees. He was the President of the NHOA in 2011 currently serves as the Third Party Committee chairman. He is an active participant with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity) and has participated in seven missions to provide eye care in developing countries, including trips to Nicaragua each year from 2005 to 2009. He is also a long-time member of the Milford Rotary Club and served as its president from 2001-02.
Dr. Raczek has received numerous awards including the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year in 2006 and the NHOA Optometrist of the Year in 2008. He was also named a fellow of the Lions Eye Foundation in 2009 for his work with the State of New Hampshire Medicaid system.
Dr. Raczek's second proudest recent accomplishment (besides his daughter Paige) is becoming a licensed private pilot! He flies out of Nashua Airport and reports, "I was more nervous going for my pilot's checkride than I was sitting for my optometry boards!"
